A common issue that comes to mumble is that its database because broken. When this happens Mumble may refuse to connect or just show a root folder listing.

This fix is generally fairly simple but there is no guarantee that this will fix your issue. Make sure you check with other members of your mumble server first to make sure no other issues are happening.

    1. Open up explorer and type in the address bar
      Code:
      %appdata%
    2. You should now see three folders Local, LocalLow, and Roaming.
    3. Select the Roaming folder, and then select the Mumble folder.
    4. You should now see a mumble.sqlite file, and a few other files.
    5. Make sure your mumble client is off, and then right click the mumble.sqlite file.
    6. Select rename, and add .backup to the end of the file.
    7. Confirm any prompts.
    8. Restart mumble and try connecting to your server.
In newer versions of windows the paths have changed!
    1. Open up explorer and type in the address bar
      Code:
      %appdata%
    2. Select the Mumble folder.
    3. You should now see a mumble.sqlite file, and a few other files.
    4. Make sure your mumble client is off, and then right click the mumble.sqlite file.
    5. Select rename, and add .backup to the end of the file.
    6. Confirm any prompts.
    7. Restart mumble and try connecting to your server.
If something is really broken after the fix, you can simply delete the new mumble.sqlite file and rename the .backup file to its original file name.
